# Now we are cooking, so how do I become a packager? At this point you should be familiar with the build process of the rpms and the community [^1]. If you wish to go ahead with becoming a Fedora packager, see the corresponding [Fedora guide] on becoming a packager and/or introduce yourself in the [#join] or [#devel] channel where someone can help guide you through the process. Do note that becoming a Fedora packager means being part of the Fedora community, and one of the Fedora [Four Foundations] is [Friends]. Meaning that beyond any technical contributions that you wish to make, we (the community) would like to interact with you as a human, and get to know you more. Come hang out in the [#social] whenever you wish. It is understandable that everyone has different social desires and limits so you are free to do it to your own comfort. But do keep in mind that at various points in your journey as a packager you will have to interact with your fellow packagers, and you are expected to at least be able to interact (friendly) on that level. In return the Fedora community strives to be a friendly and welcoming community for wherever you come from. [^1]: Most fellow packagers hang around at the [#devel] room.
